FLATFOOT (Pes Planus)

A fallen arch or flatfoot is known medically as pes planus. This is when the foot loses the gently curving arch on the inner side of the sole, just in front of the heel.

Anatomically the longitudinal arch is supported by a ligament known as the long plantar ligament which acts as both a supportive and connective structure for the muscles of the foot to attach to known as the plantar fascia.

With flatfoot the longitudinal arch is flatter to the surface. As a result the foot and ankle complex have to work harder to support the body during weight bearing resulting in pain and discomfort ūüėę

Why should I use a Personal Trainer?

A Personal Trainer (PT) is there to help support and guide you to help reach your targets and goals. Whether you are completely new to exercise and would like help setting your goals, making a suitable programme and showing you how to perform exercises correctly all whilst achieving your goals. Or you have been training for a long time and not seeing results a PT can help. Having someone accountable who is there to support, encourage, impart you with knowledge and achieve your goals a PT can be for anyone, from professional athlete to beginners.

How much does a PT session cost?

Prices vary depending on the package and support you are looking for. We offer discounted prices for block and package booked sessions. Please click here to find the right package for you.

How long do PT sessions last?

Most PT sessions last for 60 minutes. However, depending on individual circumstances we do offer training services which last between 30-90 minutes dependant on the individual’s goals and time restrictions.

Where would I train?

Here at Pinnacle we offer a range of options. Training in our studio, at your place of work (should suitable facilities be present), outside i.e. parks, at your gym or even in your home where we bring a range of equipment to you to help achieve your goals.

Would I not get more benefit from training in a gym?

The short answer to this is no!! Dependent on goals there are many places you can train and still achieve fantastic results. We use the tried and tested equipment to attain realistic goals set by you such as TRX, kettlebells, resistant bands amongst other equipment. As above these can be used in the home or other places to achieve whatever your goals may be. Obviously if you want to become a bodybuilder we would need to incorporate the gym into your routine but as we mentioned this is all goal dependent.

Isn't personal training more expensive than joining a gym?

Well that depends on how you look at it. You could join a gym where payments cost anywhere from £30 Р£150 a month. Then, for a variety of reasons, perhaps boredom due to lack of progression or maybe simple lack of motivation you stop going after only a few sessions. This is a far more expensive way to get fit and certainly less effective. You would have spent the same if not less to achieve your goals in a shorter period of time.

How often will I need to train?

Again this is another goal dependant answer. We offer a range of packages to suit your lifestyle. Remember training has to fit around your lifestyle or if more serious results are expected in shorter periods you will have to change your lifestyle to accommodate this. Here at Pinnacle dependant on your goals we recommend a minimum of training at least once a week.

I don’t need a PT but I want a programme?

We also offer our new service of online PT. This is great for the individual who may already have the knowledge and motivation or does not have the time to see a PT. It offers you the support and knowledge of a PT, whilst having your programme and direct contact with your PT at the touch of your mobile phone.

Can I train with a friend?

Yes we offer group training sessions. Group training is a great way to train and have fun with your friends, push each other to work towards goals and even better to help make training cheaper! We also offer fitness classes throughout the week, which is the cheapest way to train under the guidance of one of our trainers.

I have a medical condition can I still train?

Before you start training with us you will have to fill out a medical questionnaire, which will highlight any medical issues, which may be affected by exercise. If something is flagged up we may require permission from your GP before we can start commencing training.
